A design can look clear in an enlarged photo but need more room on skin. I choose the size around the placement and the space its lines and details need as the tattoo settles.

What to compare
Use the portfolio to judge line weight, spacing and how much detail fits into a small area. Use the style pages if you're choosing between minimalist, fine line, lettering, floral or blackwork routes.
When you send the idea, include rough size in centimetres, placement and any reference images. If the idea is too small for the detail, I'll suggest a cleaner version.
Subjects for a small design
Short words, simple symbols, small florals, initials, dates, fine blackwork and tiny Irish references can all work. I keep the main shape and simplify details that would crowd it.
