Send the tattoo brief through the booking form with the body area, rough size and useful references. Email or Instagram is fine for a short practical question, but the form gives me the detail I need to assess the work properly.

Send the subject, exact body area, approximate width and height, black or colour, and two or three useful references. The studio minimum is €50, selected Flash is €50 to €100 and Custom Tattoo starts from €150. I confirm the actual price after I can see the design and placement.

Yes. Tell me before a date is agreed if a health condition, a skin condition on the area or regular medication may affect the practical plan. Do not send detailed medical information in the booking form. I don't change medication or decide whether tattooing is medically safe for you. Ask your GP or pharmacist first, and do not stop or change prescribed medicine because of a tattoo.

Arrive rested, eat beforehand, drink water and wear clean clothing that gives easy access to the body area. Tell me before the appointment if you feel unwell, the skin is irritated or a medicine or health condition may affect the session.

My studio is at Unit 4, The Heritage, Main St, Townparks, Birr, County Offaly, R42 EK20. Visits are by appointment. Ask for current access or parking guidance before travelling, as local availability and restrictions can change.

Yes, if there's enough time to plan the tattoo properly. Message me before you travel. I'll check the idea, find a suitable appointment and explain aftercare for the trip. I may decline a last-minute request when there isn't enough time to do it well.

Yes. Genuine follow-up photographs are labelled “Healed result” in my portfolio. Most other portfolio photographs show the fresh finished tattoo, and I label those separately rather than presenting them as healed evidence.

It's a private, appointment-led studio where I work with one client at a time. Please arrange a time before visiting because I may be in a session and unable to answer the door.

I use an Acus M1 tattoo machine, Kwadron, Cheyenne and DaVinci cartridges, and World Famous inks that meet EU REACH requirements. I choose the setup for each tattoo and use a new sterile cartridge for every client.

Ribs, sternum, spine, hands, feet and other sensitive or bony areas often feel sharper. There isn't one most painful place for everyone, because placement, session length and individual sensitivity all matter. Use my tattoo pain guide as a comparison, not a guarantee.

The style alone doesn't decide how much it hurts. The body area, length of the session, how often I work over the same spot and your own sensitivity matter more. Fine Line work in a sensitive place can hurt more than a bolder tattoo in an easier place.

Tell me before the appointment if you plan to use one. I don't give one universal amount, timing or covering method because products differ. Follow the leaflet for the exact product and ask a pharmacist or doctor if you're unsure; my numbing cream guide explains why.

Do not take medicine solely for a tattoo without checking that it is suitable for you. Tell me before the appointment about any medicines that may be relevant. Do not change or stop prescribed medicine without checking with a doctor or pharmacist.

The outer upper arm or thigh often gives a first tattoo a steady surface, reasonable space and less rubbing than hands or feet. I still check the design, size, visibility and how you feel about the session before suggesting the best placement for you.

No. At my Birr studio I tattoo clients aged 18 and over only, with no parental-consent exception. Other studios may use a different policy, but you need to wait until you're 18 before booking with me.

Bring a passport, driving licence or Garda Age Card. I use photo ID to confirm that every client is 18 or over, especially when someone looks close to 18.

Ireland doesn't have one tattoo-specific licence that by itself proves a studio is safe. Other rules still apply to products, waste, workplace safety and consumer rights. I can explain what I use: single-use needles and cartridges, fresh barriers, cleaned surfaces, inks supplied for use in the EU and written aftercare.

I review the idea, placement, size and references, then reply with any questions and the next step. Sending the form doesn't confirm an appointment. I confirm the date and time separately.

Give me at least 48 hours' notice when you can. With enough notice, a deposit can normally move to one replacement date. Late changes, repeated rescheduling or a missed appointment can affect the deposit or require a new booking, as set out in the terms confirmed for your appointment.

You can send a preferred day or time, but the appointment is not fixed until I confirm it. I check the design, likely session length and the rest of the schedule before giving you the exact time.

Tell me as early as you can. What happens to a deposit depends on the notice, previous changes and the booking terms you received, so I check the actual appointment rather than applying one answer to every cancellation.

Main Street is narrow and one-way, so on-street spaces depend on availability. There's also public parking about a 10-minute walk from the studio. Check the local signs on the day because a particular space can't be reserved.

I may reply at weekends, but an immediate response isn't guaranteed. I answer messages between appointments on working days. One full brief is easier to answer than short messages spread across different apps.
