I'm Milly, the founder and tattoo artist at Milly Tattoo, my private, appointment-only studio in Birr, Co. Offaly. My full name is Liudmyla Mytnik, and I've been tattooing full time since 2011.
I work with one client at a time, from the first consultation and design planning through to the finished tattoo and aftercare. Most of my work is custom drawn for the person in front of me, with a particular focus on cover-ups and reworks, realism, fine line, black and grey, and colour.
I trained in jewellery and spent years drawing and painting before I started tattooing. That background helps me judge line weight, balance, texture, spacing and how a design will sit on the body.
I'm also an oil painter, mainly working on watercolour paper. Painting taught me to read light, tone, edges and volume. I use those skills when I build a face or animal through shading or plan a cover-up around existing pigment. I don't simply copy a flat reference. I redraw the composition for the body, the available space and the way it needs to read on skin.
You can send a clear idea, a few reference pictures, a word or a personal memory. I use that starting point to draw a tattoo that suits the chosen area without crowding it with detail.
Consultations are available in English, Ukrainian and Russian. I'll always give you an honest opinion on size, placement and design, especially where an old tattoo needs to be covered or reworked.
