Tiger Shoulder Cover-Up Tattoo

The older tiger head and thorn tattoo still had several dark lines, so the new tiger needed more scale than the original. I followed the shoulder and upper arm with a larger head, placed the dark fur and stripes over the strongest old pigment and kept lighter fur around the face. A little blue in the eyes gives one clear focal point without asking colour to hide the old work.

This Cover-Up took one four-hour session, and the after photograph shows the healed result. I didn't trace the old outline. I used the available space to move the new edges away from it, which is why the finished tiger reads as its own tattoo rather than a darker version of the first one.
