Skull, Moth and Rose Tattoo

The moth's wings and the skull both pull towards symmetry, while the rose breaks it. I kept the three silhouettes separate, connected the skull and moth with the darkest values and let the softer petals finish the lower edge. That gives the memento mori idea enough weight without adding more symbols to explain it.

This large leg tattoo took one four-hour session. The photograph was supplied after healing, so the separation between the skull, moth and rose is a settled result rather than fresh-session contrast. At a smaller size, I'd reduce texture inside the three subjects before pushing them closer together.
