Trinity Knot Ember Tattoo

Celtic & Irish

The spacing is what keeps this trinity knot readable. I kept the black bands consistent, matched the gaps between them and adjusted the whole shape to the curve of the forearm instead of treating the arm like a flat surface.

I placed the ember colour only at the crossings. It makes the over-and-under path easy to follow and gives a familiar knot its own character without crowding the design. The solid black outline and open gaps still carry the piece, so the knot will remain clear if the warm tones soften with age. On another placement I would redraw the proportions around that body curve rather than reuse this exact layout. The completed piece took 2 hours in one session. This photograph was taken at the end of the session, so it shows fresh skin and ink, not a healed result.
