Trinity Knot Ember Tattoo

The spacing is what keeps this trinity knot readable. I kept the black bands consistent, matched the gaps between them and adjusted the whole shape to the curve of the forearm instead of treating the arm like a flat surface.

I placed the ember colour only at the crossings. It makes the over-and-under path easy to follow and gives a familiar knot its own character without crowding the design.

On another placement I would adjust the proportions to the body. This piece took 2 hours in one session. This photograph was taken at the end of the session, so it shows fresh skin and ink, not a healed result.
